Explore beautiful Northumberland
Alnwick is situated in the heart of Northumberland only 10 minutes drive from beautiful beaches. The medieval market town is dominated by Alnwick Castle, ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland and the setting for the recent Harry Potter films. In the centre of town is the Market Place; with its stone cross it serves as the venue for the town's major annual events such as the costumed enactment of a Medieval fair at the end of June and the International Music Festival in August. Alnwick also has a cinema/theatre and a large supermarket as well as lots of interesting local shops, such as Barter Books, situated in the old Alnwick Railway Station.

The Alnwick Garden has been laid in the historic footprint of gardens dating back to the 18th Century. It is a world class attraction, and an eclectic mix of formality and informality. In addition to The Ornamental Garden, Rose Garden, Labyrinth and Poison Garden, the newly-opened Tree House is definitely worth a visit.

The Alnwick Garden is open from 10.00am until 5.pm or dusk 364 days every year.
